Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Can I request a lettering color that is not in the drop-down list?

Answer: Yes, you may request a different color in the "other color choice box."  

Question: What if I goof up and spell something wrong or get a date wrong?

Answer: Call us immediately at 320-629-6381 or 218-864-5004 to report the mistake. If the item has not been embroidered, we will take your correction over the phone. (We may request a faxed or emailed correction for clarification.) Once the item is embroidered it is very difficult to correct so please double check your requests prior to processing to eliminate errors and call us immediately if you realize you have made a mistake. Items embroidered incorrectly due to our error will not be charged. Errors due to you, unfortunately will be charged. Again....PLEASE double check your submission for accuracy. We don't want to charge you for an incorrect item!

Question:  Why is it difficult to correct embroidery once it is stitched?

Answer:  Once an item has been embroidered it is very difficult to remove the stitches with out damaging the item it is stitched on.  Embroidery itself creates a hole in the fabric as it is put on because  a needle and thread are penetrating the fabric to create the design.  Lettering especially, is done with many small stitches close together and taking those stitches out is extremely time consuming and difficult.  We will make every effort to double check ourselves and our accurancy before stitching; we ask that you do the same for yourselves when placing the order.  Thank you.

Question: Are there more designs available?

Answer: Yes, we are adding designs all the time. If you don't see something you like, make a request via email to see whether we might have something in our library that just isn't up yet. We will be happy to add it at your request!

Question: What if I see a design I like, but it isn't on the gift I want?

Answer: Some designs are too large too look nice on all the gifts. If you don't see your design preference on the gift item, that is likely the reason. If there are similar designs available, it could just be that we missed one! We are human--let us know at customerservice@thefleecestop.com and we will correct the error right away.

Question: Why can't I ship via the postal service overseas?

Answer: UPS is currently the preferred delivery service internationally. Their service is impeccable, predictable and traceable. It would be extremely difficult to integrate postal service rates into an accurate assessment of overseas rates.

Question: What is a typical shipping charge?

Answer: Shipping for small items (ornaments, neckwarmers and headbands) shipped by postal service cost $5.95. Larger items by postal service cost $9.95. Items shipped by UPS ship for exactly what it costs us to send them to you. It varies depending on the weight of the package and the distance from our Minnesota location. We do not add any handling fees to the cost.

Question: Can I request a specific font for the embroidery?

Answer: We have selected a block, script and fun font to compliment most embroidery needs and fonts that sew out nicely on our polar fleece items. Not all fonts show up well when stitched out. If you feel strongly about a specific font, email us at customerservice@thefleecestop.com and we will evaluate your request.

Question: Why are the designs priced differently?

Answer: Designs with extra detail and several thread changes require significantly more time to complete. Rather than increase the cost of the blanket/towel/gift across the board, we have chosen to charge a fee for each design to keep the basic blanket/gift price as low as possible. The total gift price, then, is dependent upon the size and detail of design.

Question:  How is the price calculated?

Answer:  Prices are calculated based primarily on the stitch count of the design, though the size and number of color changes may also be taken into account .

Question:  What is a stitch count?

Answer:  The Stitch Count is the number of stitches in a design.  The size and detail of the design contribute to the number of stitches it takes to create the design.

Question: How long will my order take?

Answer: Most orders ship within five business days from receipt of the order. Shipping times will vary with distance from our Minnesota location. UPS orders typically arrive 1-4 days faster than US postal service.

Question: What if I see something I like but I want it modified some (like having the colors changed or a name instead of a number.) Can I do that?

Answer: Maybe. Email us at customerservice @ thefleecestop.com  with your request. We will review it and let you know. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

Question: I would like a short phrase instead of a date. Is that possible?

Answer: Yes. Just put your phrase in the box where you would enter the date.

Question: Is there anything I can't have put on a blanket?

Answer: We do reserve the right to refuse orders that have objectionable content.

Question:  What is FSL or Free Standing Lace?

Answer:  FSL is an artform using embroidery that is created in a way that it stands by itself.  These designs cannot be sewn on an item or fabric because the stitching is too dense.  The designs that we carry are meant to be hung as ornaments or window decorations.  They could also be used as doilies or however you can imagine.  Crafty people could make a mobile.  There are many different FSL designs available from bookmarks to decorative bowls and even tissue covers and vases for dried flowers.  At this time we are not planning to offer any of the large FSL items however keep watching as we plan on adding more small designs in the future.
